Sculpting the Senses was a groundbreaking exhibition that explored the visionary work of Dutch designer Iris van Herpen, redefining the boundaries between fashion, art, science, and technology.

A  journey trough fashion,innovation and perception

The exhibition travelled internationally, captivating audiences in major cultural institutions. One of the most recent presentations took place at the Kunsthal Rotterdam, where it was on view from September 27, 2025, to March 1, 2026, marking an important moment in its European journey, alongside its showing in Paris. This stop reinforced the global relevance of van Herpen’s work, showcasing her ability to merge traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge innovation.

The exhibition then continued to expand its reach with its North American debut at the Brooklyn Museum, which opened on May 16, 2026, where it introduced her work to a new audience.

At its core, Sculpting the Senses was built around a powerful concept: the fusion of haute couture with natural and scientific phenomena.The exhibition explored the relationship between the human body, its environment, and the future of design in a rapidly evolving world.

A tactile extension of the exhibition

This experience extended beyond the exhibition itself through the book. Sculpting the Senses, which shared the same title and conceptual foundation.
