Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week 2026 arrives as the most globally ambitious edition in its history, and the bridal world is taking notice.
Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week 2026 is set to push the boundaries of bridal fashion
In its most international edition to date, taking place from 22 to 26 April at Fira de Barcelona, the event will bring together around 420 brands and 34 designers on the catwalk, further emphasizing Barcelona’s status as a global platform for fashion, creativity and industry connection.
For five days, BBFW, organised by Fira de Barcelona, will bring together major names in haute couture, emerging designers, prescribers and industry professionals in halls 1, 2 and 8 of the Montjuïc venue, becoming an essential meeting point for discovering the market and the trends that will define the 2027 season, not only in bridal fashion but also in party, gala and accessories collections.
Under the slogan On the Shoulders of Giants, a tribute to the visible and anonymous figures who have helped shape the industry, this edition aims to project diversity and international reach, while reinforcing BBFW’s position as an event capable of bringing fashion, business and culture together in a single space.
Albasarí Caro, the event’s director, summed up the ambition succinctly at the official launch, held at the Gran Hyatt Barcelona:
“BBFW 2026 will once again place the creations of the great designers under the spotlight of the fashion world, promoting art, talent and creativity, and highlighting the enormous work behind each piece. At the same time, it will strengthen the industry’s ability to open up to new horizons, discover high-potential markets and generate real opportunities for brands in an increasingly global and competitive context” she added.
The Catwalk: a global showcase
The runway, which unfolds across the first three days (22 to 24 April), sets an attractive stage. Thirty-four designers will send more than a thousand signed pieces down the catwalk, and with 60% of those names coming from outside Spain.
The country’s own artists are well represented: Yolancris returns alongside Isabel Sanchís, one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary bridal. Joining them are international heavyweights Peter Langner and Demetrios, whose combined decades of experience bring a reassuring polish to the new coexisting narratives of bridal and gala fashion.
Stéphane Rolland, the chosen designer
If any single moment illustrates what BBFW aspires to be, it is Barcelona Bridal Night, and the tenth anniversary edition, on the evening of 22 April, promises to be the most spectacular yet.
The designer chosen to anchor this milestone is Stéphane Rolland, making his Spanish debut in a bold fashion. The French couturier will unveil a collection of 80 pieces that function less as a conventional fashion show and more as a total artwork, designed as a unique presentation of music, fashion and art, which will bring together 80 sculptural pieces, architectural silhouettes and a masterful treatment of fabrics.
For those who know Rolland’s work, the anticipation will be considerable. For those who do not, this will be a revelation.
There is also a generational aspect to the night that deserves attention. Twenty-three students from three of Barcelona’s design institutions — IED Barcelona, LCI Barcelona and ESDI — have been mentored by Rolland himself to create their own original pieces, working with fabrics supplied by Grataçós.
The project will culminate in its participation in the Barcelona Bridal Night catwalk, a gesture that speaks directly to the event’s broader commitment to nurturing the next generation of bridal talent.
The trade show: 87% international and counting
From 24 to 26 April, the commercial heart of BBFW beats in the trade show, and the numbers for 2026 are striking.
Of the approximately 420 brands gathering in Barcelona, 87% are based outside Spain, representing 36 countries, mainly from the United States, Italy, the United Kingdom, France, Ukraine and Poland. It is, by far, the most international edition the event has staged.
The roll call of participants maps out something close to the full geography of global bridal fashion.
American giants Maggie Sottero, Morilee, Allure Bridals and Justin Alexander anchor the North American presence, while European houses including Caroline Castigliano, Sassi Holford and Rembo Styling represent the continent’s rich atelier tradition.
Spanish firms Marco & María and Cortana stand out. The haute couture tier — Elie Saab, Zuhair Murad, Georges Hobeika, Viktor & Rolf, Antonio Riva, Jenny Packham — lends the show an unyielding prestige.
Asia reinforces its role as a strategic hub for the sector, with a prominent presence of firms such as The Atelier by Prof. Jimmy Choo (Malaysia), Serina and Kiyoko Hata (Japan), Wang Feng (Shanghai), Vaishali Studio (India), or Joli Poli (Vietnam), among others.
As part of this framework and with the goal of strengthening ties between the Asian market and the global industry, a cocktail reception is scheduled for April 23, bringing together professionals from Asia and beyond to foster commercial relationships and unlock new business opportunities.
The fair will also draw buyers from Europe, Asia, the United States, and Brazil, further cementing its status as a key commercial hub for brands looking to expand their global footprint and tap into strategic markets.
The social value behind the show
BBFW 2026 places sustainability at its core, implementing recycling practices and responsible resource management throughout its facilities, while deepening its social engagement through initiatives that unite fashion with meaningful community impact.
This year, haute couture takes on a philanthropic purpose through a joint initiative by Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week, Stéphane Rolland, and the Kálida Foundation. The project centers on the sale of 22 original sketches — created and donated by the acclaimed French designer — available directly through the foundation’s website.
All proceeds will go entirely toward the foundation’s mission: providing free, holistic support that complements medical treatment for cancer patients, their families, and caregivers. Operating from its center at Hospital de Sant Pau, the foundation accompanies over 2,400 people annually. The initiative also offers purchasers exclusive invitations to the runway show and a cocktail reception with the designer.
The event also promotes the creation of merchandising items produced by the Ared Foundation, encouraging the socio-labor insertion of women in vulnerable situations through training and employment in the textile field.
The partners who make it possible
BBFW 2026 will be backed by a varied network of partners committed to elevating every facet of the event — from the runway to backstage and the overall guest experience. Kevin Murphy and MAC Cosmetics will lead the styling and makeup for the shows, while AIRE Ancient Baths will provide an exclusive wellness retreat for the models.
On the hospitality front, Grand Hyatt Barcelona will serve as the headline hotel partner, joined by Hotel Almanac Barcelona, Hotel SLS Barcelona, and Nobu Hotel Barcelona as official collaborating hotels.
The visual experience will be enriched by floral installations from Araik Galstyan and event infrastructure by Losberger De Boer in the Trade Lounge. Crimons will supply the official furniture for both the Village and Trade Show areas, ensuring a consistent aesthetic and functional flow across both spaces.
Rounding out the partnerships, Bolt will serve as the official transfer service, and Fever-Tree as the official cocktail sponsor of the event.
