The design duo from the Canary Islands, Marco Marrero and María Diaz, once again enchanted at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week 2025 with the presentation of their new collection “Alma”.

Inspired by the work of painter Lawrence Alma-Tadema, master of classical romanticism, from the very first moment of the show we were transported into a universe where femininity merges with art.

Indeed, the tones chosen for the new collection are soft yet expressive, with pearl white, golden ivory, sky blue and aqua green standing out.

But it was the pleated tulle dress with loose sleeves and embroidered flowers that caused a subtle stir in the audience. Another moment of great attention was the piece featuring a translucent cape and hand-embroidered floral appliqués.

In person, it is impossible not to notice the emotional depth of the brand’s work. Each piece reveals remarkable artisanal care. The fabrics are light, but their construction is solid, giving shape to an ancient story, rescued from time and rewritten for a contemporary bride.

That said, the silhouettes evoke classical antiquity, with empire cuts, flowing skirts, enveloping drapes and discreet volumes, but always with an undertone of contained theatricality.

Marco&Maria opted for a restrained, deeply emotional presentation that spoke through fabric, light, and movement. And that is precisely why they stood out.

In the end, the applause rose like a wave. As if everyone present knew they had just witnessed something rare.

Alma”, the name of the collection, was indeed what everyone felt in the room.
