Spanish beauty make-up artist and hairstylist Estrella Elorduy blends creativity, skill, and a design background to craft captivating looks that transcend borders.
A perfectionist with an insatiable curiosity for innovation, Estrella’s expertise shines through in make-up and hairdressing. Her meticulous attention to detail and unwavering devotion to excellence have garnered her a well-deserved reputation as one of Spain’s most sought-after professionals.
However, as we mentioned, Estrella’s influence extends far beyond the borders of her country of birth. With Dior spotlighting her as a key collaborator for ongoing and future projects, her impact on the world stage is undeniable. Yet, amid her busy career, Estrella’s true passion lies in her adventures to exotic places, where she discovers infinite sources of inspiration to feed her boundless creativity.
We wanted to learn a little more about how the artist is inspired to keep pushing the boundaries of her work in the beauty and fashion industry. Estrella opened up about what inspires her, talking about her interests in art, exploring diverse cultures and experimenting with different materials. Although she recognises the importance of innovation, Estrella stresses the importance of creating timeless classics that bear her distinctive signature, forming what she calls her “own universe”.
Estrella also revealed that Africa holds a special place in her heart, influencing both her hair and make-up artistry. She highlighted Egypt as a particularly compelling destination, citing its historical importance in the origins of hairdressing, cosmetic care and wigs.
“In Africa, hair is more than a matter of beauty and aesthetics; in the tribes, hairstyle is more of an identity, a status that reveals age or marital status among many other signs. They think that the human soul is in the head, and that is one of the reasons why so much importance is given to it. It is the part of the body closest to divinity, and that is why special attention must be paid to it”.
Asked how she manages to stay at the forefront of trends without renouncing her own style or artistic integrity in a constantly evolving industry, Estrella explained that she achieves this by creating her own artistic style within the avant-garde and by being true to herself.
We also asked her how to ensure that clients’ visions are reflected in the artist’s work while still infusing their unique style and creativity. Estrella Elorduy was quick to respond: “by being a bit of a psychologist and having passion and love for what you do”.

The make-up artist and hairstylist said that she preferred those that combine wild, sophisticated and natural elements with an ethnic touch, stating that this combination encapsulated her style.
