How would you define your role as a wedding planner and the impact it has on your clients’ big day?

“Fulfilling” is the word that perfectly captures the essence of our work. While it can be stressful, hectic, and undoubtedly tiring, the sense of accomplishment after successfully orchestrating a wedding is truly indescribable. Managing the most important day in a couple’s life is an immense responsibility that comes with its share of pressure. It requires meticulous organisation and unwavering attention to detail at every stage of the planning process. Beyond meeting the couple’s needs and desires, we also strive to ensure a memorable experience for their guests, making every moment of the celebration truly special.

Have you planned weddings in countries other than your own? If so, what were the biggest challenges and contrasts you encountered?

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of planning and executing weddings in over 20 countries, each one uniquely special in its own way. While every wedding comes with its own set of challenges, working in new and unfamiliar settings adds an extra layer of excitement and learning. One of the most notable differences, particularly in European countries, is the work ethic and approach of the local teams. At times, language barriers can pose a challenge in communication between us, the vendors, and the families. However, these experiences have taught us to adapt and find creative solutions, making each celebration even more rewarding.

How do you go about choosing the vendors you collaborate with while ensuring they align with the couple’s preferences?

With over 12 years of experience in the industry, we’ve had the privilege of working with an incredible variety of vendors and suppliers. Once we understand a couple’s vision for their wedding, we can confidently identify the vendors who will bring it to life seamlessly. We take pride in our extensive network of top-tier suppliers, ensuring the best options for every celebration. To empower our couples and their families, we always provide a minimum of three vendor options to choose from. This way, they feel informed and have the flexibility to select what resonates most with their unique preferences and style.

Can you share the most unforgettable wedding you’ve planned? What made it stand out to you?

We had the incredible honor of planning and executing the very first Indian wedding at Disneyland Paris—a truly unforgettable experience for both us and Disneyland Paris. This three-day celebration was a spectacular affair, not only because of its scale and grandeur but also as a groundbreaking event, being the first of its kind at this iconic venue.

To make this magical event possible, the park closed early for two days, allowing us the time needed to create breathtaking setups for the evening events. Highlights included a vibrant baraat procession through the park, featuring beloved Disney characters, a beautiful civil ceremony in front of Cinderella’s castle complete with dazzling fireworks, and a reception where Mickey and Minnie joined the couple for their first dance. It was a once-in-a-lifetime celebration that brought together the enchantment of Disney with the timeless traditions of an Indian wedding.

When a couple has very specific or unconventional ideas that are hard to execute, how do you approach the situation to create something exceptional?

At Vivaah Weddings, we embrace creativity and specificity when it comes to our couples’ expectations. The more unique or imaginative the idea, the better! We are committed to bringing these visions to life, even if it requires a few adjustments along the way. Our goal is always to ensure that the essence of the idea is realized in some meaningful way.
