BBFW will celebrate its most international edition, spreading to the world the excellence of the best creations in bridal fashion.
With 37 major brands on the catwalk, haute couture designer Giambattista Valli as the star of Barcelona Bridal Night and 400 brands in the trade show, it will be the center of attention for designers and professionals from around the bridal world for a week.
Organized by Fira de Barcelona with the support of the Departament d’Empresa i Treball de la Generalitat de Catalunya, BBFW 2024 grows by 14% in number of brands and surpasses its record of internationality, with 80% of the 400 brands in its trade show coming from more than 35 countries outside Spain. Thus, with its catwalk, from April 17 to 20, and the trade show from 19 to 21, the leading event of the sector will once again bring together the entire ecosystem of bridal fashion in Barcelona and will generate an economic impact for the territory of more than 61.5 M€, according to a study by the Institute of Economics of the University of Barcelona.
"In this edition we grow in number of brands and internationality, bringing together the most prestigious designers in the industry. Therefore, Barcelona will be, more than ever, the global epicenter of the business and trends of the sector and we want the city to live this great celebration of fashion, creativity and excellence."
Top fashion on the runway
The event’s runway will bring together 37 prestigious brands that in 900 dresses will set the trends for the coming season, which point to the ‘new luxury’ fusing classic femininity with avant-garde touches.
To achieve greater impact and reach worldwide, the BBFW runway shows will be broadcast in open streaming and will also serve as a source of inspiration for future brides who will be able to see the collections live or recorded through the show’s website and app.
What to expect?
On another hand, the world-renowned haute couture and ready-to-wear designer Giambattista Valli will preview the creations of his third “Love Collection” 2025 in what will be the first exclusively bridal fashion show in its history. The event will take place as part of Barcelona Bridal Night, the gala night of the show, on April 18, at the Llotja de Mar in Barcelona, an emblematic building that spans more than 5 centuries of history, art, architecture and culture of the city.
In this edition, the event is also committed to opening up to the city, leaving the catwalk and taking fashion to the streets of Barcelona. To do this, it launches, in collaboration with the company La Fura dels Baus, the creation of Barcelona Goes Bridal! an art installation that will be on display throughout the event on the Paseo Maria Cristina of the Montjuïc fairgrounds, with the aim of interacting and being an attraction for citizens. It is a large-scale reproduction that will represent the cycle of the bridal fashion industry, and in which in a large rotating hanger 100 meters long and 2.5 meters high from the ground, about 40 dresses of Catalan brands such as Pronovias, Jesús Peiró, YolanCris, Novia d’Art, Mariano Moreno or Olga Macià, among others, will be displayed, thus supporting the dissemination of local firms.
The best space for business
In order to enhance the opportunities for the participating brands, the show has activated the hosted buyers plan, through which it directly invites the most prominent international buyers with a high purchasing potential that will become an important investment in the sector. These professionals come from more than 80 countries, especially from key markets such as Europe, USA, Japan, South Korea, Latin America, Southeast Asia and, as a novelty in this edition, also from Australia.
The event brings together key buyers and exhibitors in a trade show that breaks down borders with brands from more than 35 countries.
Bridal & Fashion Awards | 2nd edition
The event will celebrate the second edition of the Barcelona Bridal & Fashion Awards, endorsed by a prestigious jury of international experts and, in a ceremony hosted by the famous U.S. television personality Randy Fenoli, will reward the best designers and creations of the year for their talent, creativity and commitment to innovation, sustainability and inclusivity in their collections.
