Claudio Di Mari brought to the runway a collection that was, at once, a love letter to Sicily and to the essence of Italian femininity.
Entitled “Angelica”, the 2026 proposal delved deep into the designer’s Mediterranean roots and celebrated the woman as a symbol of strength, tenderness, and hospitality.
Inspired by the Sicilian landscapes and atmospheres, Di Mari presented gowns that moved between ethereal lightness and defined sensuality. Each look told an intimate story, woven from tradition and innovation, where craftsmanship and haute couture tailoring came together in sophisticated harmony.
Lace took centre stage, chantilly, rebrodé, and macramé, all conceived and designed by Di Mari himself and meticulously crafted in Italy.
The contrast of textures gave life to silhouettes that were sometimes soft and flowing, other times more structured, featuring taffeta, airy ruffles, and protective external constructions.
The “Angelica” collection spoke not only of aesthetics, but of values. It honoured the woman to whom one devotes a life, the one who welcomes, nurtures, and loves with intensity. The shapes celebrated the body with grace and intention, while the details evoked heritage and the pride of a land where every line holds memory.
Visually, the show oscillated between the dreamlike and the tangible. There was romance, but also strength; sweetness, but also resolve.
Claudio Di Mari dressed the Mediterranean bride, not the idealised version, but the real one, with all her contradictions and depth, with her light and shadow.
At BBFW 2025, Claudio Di Mari delivered more than gowns: he offered a vision, one deeply rooted in his land and in his time. And he left us with the feeling that we had witnessed something far greater than fashion.
